Rant Of The Day is where I get to mouth off about whatever I feel like for however long I like. Theoretically, I'll update my whinge/opinion piece every weekday; in practice, maybe not so often.

Repulsiveness: it's all relative

To avoid a repeat of the incident, I won't give you a detailed description of what happened when I went to the doctor to have the problem which led to the bleeding neck dealt with (even the conversational use of the word "slice" in this context got me into trouble the other day). I avoid this detail, though, with something of a heavy heart. On the scale of repulsive things, I don't think a bleeding neck is that much of a problem. Consider these examples:

• As I went to lunch the other day, there was a queue half the length of the Pitt Street mall waiting to have John Laws sign copies of his calendar;
• The very attractive Cisco Platypus letter opener pictured at the top of this page;
• Anything at all to do with Celine Dion;
• Mike Munro;
• The many people who find dead rats in their chip packets each year.

Against these, my inflamed naevus seems barely worth complaining about, really. If you want the full revolting story, drop me a line.
